Devutthana Ekadashi (Chaturmas Ends)

Lord Vishnu awakens from four months of Yoga Nidra, ending the Chaturmas period. The gates of all Vishnu temples are symbolically thrown open, and the wedding season resumes. Tulsi Vivah (the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi plant to Vishnu) is performed on this day. In cosmic terms, Vishnu’s awakening represents the return of the preserving force to the manifest world, ending a period of dissolution and introspection.
