Crowley's Greater Feast (Death of Aleister Crowley, 1947)

Aleister Crowley died at Netherwood boarding house in Hastings on December 1, 1947. Thelemites commemorate the date as his ‘Greater Feast.’ His last words are disputed. His funeral at Brighton Crematorium scandalized the press when hymns and passages from the Book of the Law were read. The ‘wickedest man in the world’ became the most influential occultist of the 20th century.
