Celebrated on day 1 of I Peret, this festival honored the serpent god Nehebkau, who bound the ka (life force) to the body at birth and joined it to the ba (traveling soul) after death. It served as a symbolic second New Year, mirroring Wepet Renpet’s rituals, five days after Osiris’s death in the Khoiak cycle. The pharaoh distributed food to the people.
