On day 26 of Khoiak, the falcon god Sokar was honored at his cult center in Memphis. A sacred barque called the Henu was dragged around the walls of Memphis at dawn. Sokar merged with Ptah and Osiris into the composite deity Ptah-Sokar-Osiris, embodying creation, death, and resurrection. The festival marked the central day of Osiris’s symbolic death.
