The fourth great duchen, commemorating the Buddha’s descent from Trayastrimsa heaven after spending three months teaching the Abhidharma to his mother Maya Devi, who had been reborn there. The Buddha descended a jeweled triple ladder at Sankashya, flanked by Brahma and Indra. This event symbolizes the compassionate connection between the human and celestial realms. Merit is multiplied ten million times. Practitioners focus on devotional practices and generating bodhicitta.
